Company profile:

We are an independent non-profit company, established in November 2003.  The company’s mission is to promote, maintain, enhance and protect the uniqueness of Temple Bar and to encourage positive partnerships between the commercial and cultural communities in the area. 
Membership of TBT includes restaurateurs, hoteliers, publicans, retailers, cultural centers, charities and service providers who operate in Dublin’s Cultural Quarter.  These businesses have come together to form TBT with the aim of enhancing the local environment and promoting Temple Bar both at home and abroad.  This is achieved through a successful marketing and communications program. 
Internship description:
Description of Daily Activities for Student:
  • While the daily activities of the student will vary from day to day, in the main, the activities will include:
  • Assisting the Marketing & Events Executive with event specific tasks including database management, writing documents, developing creative communications ideas, quality control on all printed electronic materials used and networking with other businesses Assisting in online marketing and pr campaigns. 
  • The student, from time to time, will also be expected to assist with general administration duties such as answering the telephone, filing, faxing, photocopying etc

Description of Assignment:
Assisting in the production and promotion of the Fest.  Throughout the placement, the student will be given the opportunity to emerge themselves completely in festival planning and preparation, culminating in the actual presentation of the festival itself.  Responsibilities and tasks will include: 

  • Assisting with online promotion of the festival to both music and tourism market, through the purchase of Google ad words, banner advertising, listings and reciprocal links.
  • Manage website & social media content
  • Assisting with artist liaison including artist contracts, accommodation, special requirements, production lists etc
  • Direct marketing - identifying possible target groups/audiences and distributing information about the festival to these.
  • Event Management - assisting with the organisation of the tourism launch and the official festival launch. Tasks in this regard will include invitation management, organising refreshments and entertainment, branding in the venue, sponsor liaison etc
  • Media Relations - assisting Marketing & Events in obtaining as much media coverage as possible, working with contacts in the international, national and local print and broadcast media.
  • Marketing - assisting Marketing & Events in the creation of a number of marketing tools including print advertising, billboard advertising, radio advertising, e-zine campaigns, flyer distribution etc
  • Volunteers Co-ordination - assisting with the recruitment, allocation and supervision of all volunteer staff leading up to and during the festival.
  • Sponsor liaison - ensuring that all sponsor's expectations are fulfilled and that key sponsors are looked after during the festival.
  • Festival Evaluation - when the festival is over, using a number of information sources such as market research, box office information, customer and artist feedback to measure the effectiveness and success of the festival.
Specific wishes:
  • Public relations/ event management/ media/ communication/
  • Fully competent with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook
  • Plus working knowledge of Microsoft Publisher and Photoshop. Strong knowlege of social media i.e twitter, facebook, four square etc.
