 JOB DESCRIPTION
The daily activities are (but not limited to): 
  • Process all guest check-ins by confirming reservations, assigning room, and issuing and activating room key
  • Process all payment types such as room charges, cash, checks, debit, or credit
  • Process all check-outs
  • Answer, record, and process all guest calls, messages, requests, questions, or concerns
  • Inspect rooms to quality control rooms for check-in
  • Supply guests with directions and information regarding property and local areas of interest (Provide guests with all kinds of information; activities, dinner reservations, excursions to nearby islands, boat rental, diving & snorkeling, spa appointments, car rental etc..)
  • Run daily reports (arrivals, departures, housekeeping and maintenance reports and reservations), identify any special requests, and check reports for accuracy
  • Provide complimentary drinks in the room
  • Working with RoomMaster 2000, our hotel management/reservation system
  • Collect tour operator voucher for accounts payable
  • Updating and/or adjusting the client data base in the reservation system, Room master 2000
  • Preparing special requests for guests
  • Reviews hotel on referral websites
  • Contact tour operator regarding reservations, rates, estimated times of arrival
  • Office organization – increased efficiency, and minimized costs
  • Maintain guest surveys
  • Walking around the property for PM shift and reporting maintenance issues
  • Creating daily housekeeping schedules
  • Weekly inventory
  • Make a photocopy of credit card slips every day
Along with the daily tasks of the front desk, there are also several projects that can be carried out by the interns, related to office procedures, guest services, facility management, sales and marketing, accounting, etc.
Interns will follow all company policies and procedures; ensure uniform and personal appearances are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets. Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards; anticipate and address guests' service needs; assist individuals with disabilities; thank guests with genuine appreciation. Speak with others using clear and professional language; answer telephones using appropriate etiquette. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others. Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards. Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
We accept 6 month internship; we have 2 intake periods at the end of January and the end of July every year. These dates can be flexible upon request.  It is highly recommended that the new intern actually arrive 2 weeks prior to the official date or arrival, in order to receive some training from the current interns and the office staff.

The Hôtel Edward 1er is a three star château hotel in the Dordogne, France. The owners and directors of the hotel are Arjan & Marije Capelle, a Dutch couple, who both graduated from the Hotelschool The Hague (1991 & 1999).
Hôtel Edward 1er is beautifully located on the edge of the village of Monpazier ; a classified mediaeval village with a little over 500 habitants.
Hôtel Edward 1er has 15 rooms and 2 suites. All rooms have bathrooms with bath, color TV, and are decorated in style with the château. The Suites offer Jacuzzi and/or Turkish steam bath. Hôtel Edward 1er is member of Châteaux et Hôtels the Collection, a chain of individually owned hotels offering charming and luxurious hospitality.


  

The F&B of Hôtel Edward 1er consists of breakfast, dinner and bar service.
Breakfast is served in the rooms, in the restaurant or at poolside. Dinner is served in the restaurant or on the pool terrace. The dinner consists of a daily changing chef’s menu with choice. Reservation is always required for the restaurant. Maximum number of covers: 28. The restaurant is also open for non-resident guests.
The team running Hôtel Edward 1er consists of around 8 employees. Next to the management-tasks of the hotel, the owners take active roles in all the practical jobs.
